Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel SOFER is an American actress
from the United States. Her roles include daytime television, episodic guest
performances, and TV-produced films. Sofer was recognized with the Daytime Emmy
Award by CBS in 1995, for her portrayal of Lois Cerullo, the role she played in
the soap-opera General Hospital. She has been playing Quinn Fuller since 2013
on CBS The Bold and the Beautiful, a soap production The Bold and The
Beautiful. Sofer was the daughter of Susan Sofer (a psychologist professor) and
Martin Sofer (a Conservative rabbi). The family later moved to Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, until the time of divorce from her parents,[citation
requiredSofer moved with her brother and father David to Teaneck, New Jersey,
in 1970. But, Sofer lived in Western Pennsylvania as a child. The family was
based in Ambridge Pennsylvania where their father was the director of the Beth
Samuels Jewish Center. Later, she attended the Frisch School in Paramus, New
Jersey, which is coeducational Mordern Orthodox Jewish high-school. Sofer lived
in North Bergen where her father was the rabbi of synagogue Temple Beth El. She
graduated from North Bergen High School, later attending classes at Montclair
State College. Sofer was the first woman to portray Lois Marie Cerullo at
General Hospital. Her first appearance was in 1993 as a manager of an ensemble.
However, her first high-profile character was Rocky McKenzie on the daytime
soap drama Loving (1988-91). Sofer is most likely best known for her character
Lois Cerullo on General Hospital (December 15 1993 - September 24 1996). Then,
she appeared as an actor on the show (February 7-17 1997 between September 30th
and October 2, 1997). Her performance as the hilarious Lois won Sofer a Daytime
Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series. In
May 2013 it was announced Sofer was set to join the CBS soap show The Bold and
the Beautiful as a new role of Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on the
12th of July. Sofer has appeared in several high-profile prime time television
series in a supporting cast member or guest star roles: Seinfeld, Melrose
Place, The Chronicle, Ed, Friends, Spin City, Blind Justice, Ghost Whisperer,
24, NCIS, and Two and a Half Men.
