Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. She started her career in the industry at the age 4 with commercial work as well as voice-overs. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe", a child discovered in a park, who was fostered and raised by Josie. Sarah went on to be a part of the team with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) numerous times: Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she was also chosen to play "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). It starred Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah has studied jazz, voice tap, hip hop, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her class in tap and Theatre at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. After being home-schooled by her mom, she attended public school until second grade. She was accepted in the 6th grade to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008 Sarah was 18 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was chosen). Today, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, but the most notable was the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
