Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of Caroline (Friend), an accomplished classical violinist mother as well as Julian Pike, an opera singer father. Because of her parents' jobs, she spent her childhood touring around Europe. Pike attended Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. When she was in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and accepted by an agent. However, she continued her studies at Wadham College, Oxford, where she took classes in English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper-second class distinction degree.Pike has appeared in a variety of UK television series, including Wives and Daughters (1999) and then made her movie debut as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released it was released at just 23. While her film debut was a high-budget action movie The film work that followed was primarily in smaller independent films like Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards) as well as Pride & Prejudice (2005), as one of the Bennet daughters. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) followed. She returned to film with impressive performances in three smaller films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as the sci-fi thriller Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action movies as the female lead alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
